COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Community Recreation Center project was developed from the Town’s intent to create a ‘recreation destination’ that the entire community will actively enjoy and value at Mammoth Creek Park. The guiding principle builds from the “A Town within a Park” concept that will deliver local residents and visitors high-quality recreation facilities and enhanced and innovative program offerings that promote healthy and active lifestyles for all ages.
The majority of funding (86%) for the construction of the Community Recreation Center and mobility hub was derived from Measure R and Measure U special use taxes. These voter approved special taxes are designated for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, programming and administration of facilities and projects for Mobility, Recreation and Arts & Culture. Other funding sources included donations from the Raise the Roof campaign, Park Development Impact Fees (DIF), Mello Roos, transit reserves and the Town’s general fund.
