PANUM CRATER TRAIL

The Panum Crater Trail is a nature walk around and into a volcano near Mono Lake. Panum Crater is a plug-dome volcano that erupted in 1320 AD. This year-round, 2.1 mile trail is well marked and popular for birding, hiking, and walking. The trail is within the Mono Basin Scenic Area off Highway 120 East.
