THANK YOU TO OUR 2022 VOLUNTEERS EXTRAORDINAIRES!
A key pillar of Mammoth Lakes Recreation’s Guiding Principles is Stewardship. We believe recreation is the gateway for understanding and caring for the precious landscape, public lands, and community values that underpin the economy of Mammoth Lakes, California, and the quality of life and experience for all its residents, visitors and other stakeholders. To this end, we applaud all our volunteers who so graciously donated their time and efforts to caring for our landscape through the Eastern Sierra Adopt-A-Trail and Tangle Free Waters programs.
The stats are still rolling in, but so far, we can tell 2022 was an amazing year of stewardship! The Eastern Sierra Adopt-A-Trail program recorded 203 volunteer days totaling 429 Volunteer hours. That’s equivalent to $12,850 in value! Our Tangle Free Waters program was equally successful with 20 collection stations being serviced by volunteers who collected 12 cubic ft. of fishing line when compressed into the boxes we send off for the line to be recycled.
We still have opportunities available for 2023 – visit www.MammothLakesRecreation.org to join the team! #mlrsteward
