MEASURE U GRANT APPLICATION IS OPEN

The Measure U or “Mammoth Lakes Mobility, Recreation and Arts & Culture Utility Users Tax Ordinance” was adopted by the Mammoth Lakes Town Council on March 17, 2010, and approved by the voters of the Town of Mammoth Lakes on June 8, 2010. Mammoth Lakes Recreation is the recommending body for the use of these funds to the Mammoth Lakes Town Council. Since 2015, over $1.7 million dollars has been awarded to community organizations that enhance the Mobility, Recreation and Arts & Culture programs in our community.

Applications for the 2025 cycle of Measure U Programming Grants opened on January 6, 2025. $225,000 in grant funding is available. Grants are awarded to programs that support the “Planning, construction, operation, maintenance, programming and administration of facilities and projects for Mobility, Recreation and Arts & Culture.”

In the fiscal year 2023/24 cycle, through MLR’s recommendation, $195,000 was awarded to 11 different organizations. Through that funding, in the Town of Mammoth Lakes, nearly 120,000 people participated in or attended a Measure U supported program. Visit our Partners page to learn more about the organizations that continue to bring new opportunities and programming to our community!

We are always looking for new programs to expand and enhance our community offerings.
