STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WITH MLR
The trails are thawing, the waters are calling, and stewardship season is knocking at our door. Volunteer adoptions for the 2026 Eastern Sierra Adopt-A-Trail (ESAAT) and Tangle Free Waters (TFW) seasons are underway!
Whether this will be your first time volunteering with us, or you’ve been at it for years, be part of something that truly matters - healthy trails, cleaner waterways, and a more resilient Eastern Sierra for everyone who visits and calls it home. We’ll supply the gloves, grabbers, buckets, and bags, you just bring the energy. Volunteer supply pick-ups will be available at several locations this Spring.
All ESAAT and TFW volunteers contribute a minimum of 10 hours of stewardship at their adopted trail, facility, or station. Approved tasks include litter and pet waste removal, light trail maintenance, fishing line collection, area beautification, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues you notice along the way.
TFW volunteers also collect fishing line from their adopted stations on a weekly or bi-weekly basis throughout the season. At season’s end, all collected line is returned to MLR for sorting and recycling.
NOTE - Volunteer sign-ups have a deadline of March 31 - join us today!
