FISHING ADVENTURE WITH LOCAL YOUTH
MLR was proud to partner with the Crowley Fish Foundation (CFF) for a special youth fishing trip that began as part of Latino Conservation Week and has grown into a wonderful opportunity to make sure our local youth have the chance to experience and enjoy their own backyard.
MLR rented two pontoon boats and an aluminum boat, giving the kids a full morning on the water with Crowley Fish Foundation guides and volunteers. Their knowledge, passion, and patience allowed us all to learn new skills, build confidence, and experience the excitement of fishing in the Eastern Sierra. We also talked about MLR’s Tangle Free Waters program and how properly disposing of fishing line helps protect wildlife and keeps our lakes and waterways clean. After a great morning on the water, Mammoth Lakes Tourism (MLT) treated everyone to a delicious lunch from Rolling Chef.
A huge thank you to CFF, LADWP, MLT, and all of the adult chaperones who gave their time to make the day possible. Partnerships like this are what make community recreation so meaningful. We’re excited to continue this event as an annual tradition, helping shape the next generation of Eastern Sierra recreationists and stewards.
