VOLUNTEER WITH THE EASTERN SIERRA ADOPT-A-TRAIL PROGRAM

The Eastern Sierra is globally celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes, attracting millions of visitors annually to its snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, and vast valleys. Mammoth Lakes Recreation and its partners work to balance public access with the protection of these delicate natural resources, ensuring sustainable enjoyment for future generations.

Now through May 9, we are accepting volunteers for the 2025 season of the Eastern Sierra Adopt-A-Trail program. Simply visit the program page and scroll down to see which locations are available and fill out the simple registration form. Volunteers are provided with all necessary supplies.

This program offers individuals and organizations the opportunity to support local trails, lakes, and trailheads through financial sponsorship or volunteer stewardship. Sponsorships last for one year from the adoption date, while volunteer commitments follow the calendar year. The goal is to ensure each facility has both sponsors and volunteers to enhance engagement, stewardship, and sustainability. Your support helps keep these recreational areas safe, enjoyable, and well-maintained for the future!
