|Bringing Trail Users Together|
(December 23, 2020) –
Did you know there is a forum for trail users to collaborate? Twice a year the Mammoth Lakes Trails System (MLTS) Trails Manager gives an update on what is happening in the local trails world. All trail users are encouraged to attend these meetings to learn, and participate, in the future of trails in the Mammoth Lakes area.
In the Summer of 2008, the Mammoth Trails Charter established a confederation of user groups seeking to “…effectively and inclusively create and enhance recreation for our community.” The basis is to enhance and protect outdoor recreation amenities by fostering strong relationships between user groups to increase awareness and understanding of multiple uses as well as strengthen our community’s voice for trails and public access.
These meetings offer a chance for trail users to come together and learn what the MLTS has proposed to the Inyo National Forest, what is in the works and provide insight to proposed or potential projects. Click HERE to learn more about the history of the original Mammoth Trails Charter.
The next Mammoth Trails meeting will be January 14, 2021 at 5:00pm. The next priority projects for the MLTS will be discussed. Please join the conversation! The meeting will be over Zoom; stay tuned for a link.
