Earth Week 2021 Celebrations

Celebrate Earth Day in the Mono Basin doing a little Spring Cleaning! We'll be staging at the Solar Pavilion at Guss Hess Community Park in Lee Vining to pass out supplies and collect the loot!


Fishing opener is days away; let's start the season clean! Thanks to generous support from Mono County Fish & Wildlife Commission, Mammoth Lakes Recreation will have a Tangle Free Waters station on hand to deposit collected line for recycling along with trash grabbers, reusable bags and gloves!


Mono Lake Committee, Mono 350, High Sierra Energy Foundation, Eastern Sierra Electric Auto Association, Sierra Trash Eliminators and more will be on hand for this Earth Day Celebration with educational materials and fun for you to enjoy!

Yosemite Day-Use Reservation System

In other travel news, Highway 89, Monitor Pass, opened for the season on April 9, 2021. Caltrans may be required to close the road again should the area experience significant winter weather.
Beginning Friday, May 21, visitors to Yosemite National Park will need a day-use reservation to enter the park. The day-use reservation system will allow the park to manage visitation levels to reduce risks associated with exposure to COVID-19.

Day-use reservations will be required for all users, including annual and lifetime pass holders. Each day-use reservation is valid for one vehicle and the occupants of that vehicle. The reservation system will be in effect through September 30, 2021.
