Another snowy Monday in Mammoth folks! We spent the weekend hiking the Mammoth Rocks Trail, exploring the Indian Caves and checking out sites for a possible outdoor event venue. Lots of work to do and never enough time to make it a reality as I wake each morning asking myself, “Am I working on the right stuff?”
We have a busy week coming at us with the Allocation process for special events and event programming slated for 5pm this evening, Monday, in the Council Chambers. Our goal is for the committee to provide a funding recommendation to the MLR board next Monday and then to Town Council in early December. It is never too late to start planning for next summer!
We will be celebrating Veterans Day on Wednesday! Thank you to the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department and to Chief Frank Frievalt for extending hospitality. Please join us in celebrating our Veterans for a simple and elegant ceremony that starts at 9am.
Our Mammoth Trails Committee meets on Thursday at 3pm in the Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Recreation Conference Room. All of our board meeting agenda’s and minutes are posted on the website.
We have a great group of MLR Board members that are focused on elevating recreation to the next level and are more than jazzed to be able to focus on work that will have such a positive impact on this community. Recreation generated more than $86 billion into the California economy last year – holy cow!
And lastly, as I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to my daughter Kristen who is celebrating her birthday today – Happy Birthday Scooter!
