ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Community Multi-Use Facilities project was developed from the Town's intent to create a ‘recreation destination’ that the entire community of Mammoth Lakes will actively enjoy, value and ultimately be proud to call their Park. The guiding principle builds from the “A Town within a Park” concept that will deliver local residents and visitors high-quality complementary recreation facilities at Mammoth Creek Park.
The proposed facility is comprised of three major components: Community Center, Multi-Use Facility and an Inclusive Playground.
The new community center (built in conjunction with the Multi-Use Facility) will be a major upgrade from the current building which has extensive building deterioration, on-going maintenance issues, and functional inefficiencies.
The Multi-Use Facility will include an Olympic sized ice skating sheet, locker rooms, venue space for local town and private events, as well as several sport court areas for basketball, volleyball and more.
UPDATED ACCESSIBLE PLAYGROUND
The Community Multi-Use Facilities Project will grow upon the current playground and create a more accessible play structure where children of all abilities have the opportunity to enjoy the space.
