CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
MLR is always for looking for volunteers to help with a wide variety of projects and tasks.
This November 17 we will be hosting a “Sorting Party” for all the monofilament fishing line we have been collecting throughout the season from the Tangle Free Waters collection stations. We need a lot of help to sort the line, remove hooks and other tackle, and pack it up to send off for recycling. The line gets recycled by Berkely Conservation Institute into new line, artificial reef, and fish habitat. Since 1990, they have recycled more than 9 million miles of fishing line!!! (Spoiler alert – food, beverages, and music provided while we sort!)
